Training Program Admissions and Registration Process

In 2024, we introduced a new admissions process for our Level 1, 2, and 3 Trainings in North America. This process is designed to help us scale our operations while addressing some of the most frustrating aspects of the previous system.

Highlights of our new system include:

  • General Application: Those interested in Level 1, 2 or 3 Training submit a General Application. Later, those applicants whose General Applications have been approved are invited to register for a program.
  • Registration: When invited to register, applicants select from a range of trainings when possible. This process eliminates the need for people to repeatedly enter lotteries for individual trainings as they did before. However, you may be invited to register more than once if trainings offered the first time do not meet your specific needs.
  • Prioritization: In our initial launch of the process, we prioritized those who had entered the most previous lotteries and had not yet attended a program.
  • Supporting our DE&I Efforts: The new process allows the Institute to lean into its commitment to DE&I by using a weighted system for those who identify as members of the Global Majority and/or are part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Phases of the initial roll out:

Summer 2024: The first round of General Application invitations was sent to those who had entered the most lotteries but who had not yet had the chance to attend a training.

Late 2024 and beyond:  General Applications open periodically for a limited time. There are separate General Applications for Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3, and you can access information about them on each training level's webpage. Links are below.

To ensure applicants have a fair chance of registering for a training within 12-18 months, we may limit the number of General Application submissions based on expected participant seats in planned trainings. The General Application for each training level may close once the limit is reached.

We are still determining how often we will open the General Application.  We want to balance collecting applications with our ability to provide spaces in programs for people to register.

As we evolve our process, we are also increasing the number of available trainings. We are actively training more Trainers and designing new programs to continue to expand the application of IFS to new fields. Additionally, we're creating new content for the ever popular Online Circle.

You may have questions about the details of this process. Please visit our  Help Center with more resources.  We are committed to continuing open communication and connection to our community as we learn from this new process.
