IFS Annual Conference Frequently Asked Questions
What is the IFS Annual Conference Cancellation Policy?
Registration Cancellations made by Saturday, September 19, 2020, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time will be charged a $50.00 handling fee. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Ashley Curley, IFSI Conference Manager. No refunds or credits will be given after this time. Transfer of registrations is not permitted at any time.
What is included in the conference registration fees?
The daily registration fee includes tuition for the conference, continental breakfast, buffet lunch, coffee breaks and morning and evening activities. Dinner is on your own. Your registration badge is required for all conference workshops and events. Lodging is NOT included in the registration fee and must be arranged directly by each participant with the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel directly.
Will I be able to attend all of my first choice workshops?
Workshops are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. We will make every effort to accommodate your first-choice workshops.Online registration is fastest and guaranteed option in registering for your first choice workshops. Online registration is updated in the moment and reflects all open workshops. If you choose to registration my mail or fax, your registration is processed in the order that they are received according to workshop availability. It is recommended that you list first and second choice workshops on your registration form. All registration deadlines are postmarked deadlines.
How do I change a workshop once I have registered?
If you need to change a workshop prior to Sunday, October 4th, you can do this by following the instructions at the bottom of your confirmation emails received at the time of your registration. This email provides a link to access your registration to make any changes you require. You may also email IFSI Conference Manager directly and wait for confirmation that the change has been approved.
After Sunday, October 4th, you will need to stop by the registration desk to view open workshops (if any). Most years, onsite workshop changes can not be approved.
To avoid disruptions and overcrowded workshops, all workshops are closed to anyone who hasn't been assigned to them in advance. Each workshops will be staffed with volunteers who are required to check your conference badge before entering any workshop space. We greatly appreciate your cooperation in this policy that helps create a fair and enjoyable workshop experience to all.

How do I receive workshop handouts?
In an effort to cut down on distributed printed materials, some handouts will be made available in advance through our website. Once registered, you will receive a link to download all available handouts and/or PowerPoints. Emails regarding handout download will begin in September.
Please Note: Not all workshops will offer an electronic handout and not all workshops offer a handout in general. If a handout is made available electronically, it is possible that hard copies will not available onsite for that specific workshop.
What should I wear to the Annual Conference?
The IFSI conference offers a casual to business casual environment for all workshops and events. Being comfortable is most important!
We can guarantee that the temperature in the hotel conference rooms will fluctuate dramatically from hot to cold. We strongly recommend that you dress with layers so that you can adjust your apparel according to the temperature in that space.
Is the Annual Conference recorded?
Select workshops are recorded and or live streamed at the IFS Conference. While a list of these recorded options won't be available until just prior to the conference (if at all), all recordings can be purchased through our online course catalog. If you are interested in live stream options, please continue to visit our website regularly for registration details.

Is there a Code of Conduct for IFS Institute Events and Activities?
Code of Conduct for Events and Activities Organized by IFS Institute, Inc.
"Members" of IFS Institute’s events and activities: Anyone who participates in, observes, teaches, or otherwise attends IFS Institute-organized training programs, conferences, webinars, teleconferences, workshops, online communities, or other functions.
IFS Institute requires that Members of its events and activities create and maintain a harassment-free event environment, regardless of gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or nationality. Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
- Aggressive or hostile verbal comments and other behavior that reinforces social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, nationality
- Displaying or allowing to be displayed sexual images in public spaces
- Deliberate intimidation or stalking
- Unwanted or uninvited photography or recording
- Sustained disruption of IFS Institute events or activities
- Inappropriate physical contact
- Unwelcome sexual attention
- Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behavior
We expect Members of each event or activity organized by IFS Institute to abide by this Code of Conduct. IFS Institute reserves the right to pursue appropriate legal remedies or removal from IFS Institute events for any failure to abide by this Code of Conduct.
Reporting a Code of Conduct Violation
To report a violation of this Code of Conduct, please follow the procedures in the Grievance Policy at IFS-Institute.com FAQ page. In addition, reporting a Code of Conduct Violation specific to the IFSI Annual Conference, specifically while on site at the conference, if necessary can be addressed directly with IFSI Conference Manager for immediate response to any issue.
