Summary

Come learn how IFS therapy can support the relief of chronic physical pain!

You will be introduced to a holistic approach for treating chronic pain based on IFS. With use of clinical case material, didactic instruction, and experiential exercise you will learn how parts of the personality affect chronic pain inadvertently, and sometimes purposefully in their attempts to cope with burdens of fear, toxic stress and trauma.

This workshop explores how IFS therapy can be used to support people with chronic pain by helping them access their core Self and ease the parts of them that are caught in the pain cycle. It also shows how IFS fits naturally into a multidisciplinary collaborative amongst health professionals. This approach to care recognizes chronic pain often involves physical, emotional, and social challenges, along with related issues like trauma, substance use, social isolation, depression, and anxiety.
