At the heart of every IFS training, workshop or program is the IFS trainer.  As demand for IFS education has grown, so have our efforts to expand the community of trainers dedicated to making IFS Institute’s educational experiences transformational.  

Last summer we offered a community survey to guide us in our work to meet the demand fueled by the growing awareness of IFS. We’re grateful to the thousands who replied and provided important insights on the community we serve as well as learning preferences. We have used these insights to guide us as we are expanding our learning programs while working to maintain high quality events and steward the integrity of the IFS model.

This past week I have been thinking a lot about problem solving. As one of the leaders at the Institute, I hear frequently from a wide range of stakeholders on issues important to them and then working with our team and others to figure out how to solve them. Important issues such as;

· How do we grow the number of programs offered while maintaining the integrity of the teaching?

· What additional offerings do we want to provide, in what order and to whom?

· How do we expand the accessibility of our offerings?

IFS Institute and Black Therapists Rock (BTR) have created a partnership that is helping to spread the IFS model to under-represented communities, and more specifically, Black communities across the United States.

As the Russian-Ukrainian war continues, we are reaching out to let you know that the IFS Institute and the Foundation for Self Leadership, along with the rest of the IFS community, stand firmly with you, the people of Ukraine. We extend our support and love to the Ukrainians who face attacks, uncertainty, and the sudden loss of homes and loved ones. What we have been observing violates our core values of humanity, harmony, and love.

We're excited to be expanding the IFS Institute team! We are looking to immediately add a Director of Talent Management and Director of Operations. We will also be adding a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialist in the near future.

As we sat down to write this note to the IFS community about our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) efforts, we recognized that while we have launched important projects and made progress, we also wanted to take a step back and create a statement of commitment. We wanted to be specific about our goals going forward, focus our efforts and be transparent and accountable to the community.

We hope you're enjoying a safe and healthy summer.  It has been a busy 2021 at the Institute and I thought I would share some of the work we are doing to grow and expand our community in order to bring more high quality learning events and IFS Trainings to you;

On Thursday, October 14th we will open our virtual 2021 IFS Annual conference with a focus on Widening the IFS Lens Through Voices of Global Majority.
